Home School VBS: Goals and Intentions

How do we plan to "home school" faith? We have chosen to focus on learning Bible verses and Bible stories, keeping in mind the following goals:

To love and play with Jesus and our children
To form vibrant discipleship in our home
To model a love for God's Word and its power in our lives

Our intentions in creating this blog are first, to give us some accountability in our process, and second, to share our ideas with others!

Who we are...

Jennifer and Molly, friends since college, are currently making use of their advanced degrees as moms of not-quite-so-young children and Kindermusik educators. Despite being 750 miles apart, together they have weathered storms of life that have caused them to both doubt their faith as well as to cling to it.

They are life-long mainline protestants who are proud to be part of a Church that loves and welcomes all, accepts questions and thoughtful dialogue, and continues to reveal meaning and insight through the stories and words of Christ.

Who we are not...

While we admire and take inspiration from the Mommy Bloggers who dress their children in garments they knit from personally hand-dyed, hand-spun wool, or feed their families organic milk from the goat that freely roams the rolling, wildflower-speckled hills of their New England acreage, um...that's not us. Our children are not more creative or clever than yours. Our houses are not cleaner or greener than yours. We're just two moms trying to do our best and be a little bit intentional with our time and our energy.
